Myers has been a game-changing player for Sachse the last two seasons, and he is also the starting shortstop for the school’s baseball team. He has amassed more than 1,800 total yards this year.
Michael Ainsworth - Staff Photographer Desmon White, DeSoto (5A): 86-120-0-1,365, 12 TDs passing; 61-585, 9.59 yards/carry, 8 TDs rushing. Among area leaders in rushing and passing, White is one of the key components of DeSoto’s high-scoring offense. His arm and speed make him an ideal dual-threat quarterback for head coach Claude Mathis.
John F. Rhodes - Special Contributor Destri White, Mesquite Horn (5A): 65-116-3-1,048, 11 TDs passing; 50-237, 4.74 yards/carry, 3 TDs rushing. Destri White has continued to grow as a fixture in the Mesquite Horn offense and the quarterback uses his speed to get out of trouble. This season, he has contributed to 14 touchdowns and he commands and offense averaging 46 points per game.
Vernon Bryant - Staff Photographer Kyler Murray, Allen (5A): 74-120-2-1,228, 11 TDs passing; 57-330, 5.79 yards/carry, 7 TDs rushing. After leading Allen to a state title in 2012, the junior is turning heads again with more than 1,550 total yards this season.
Brad Loper - Staff Photographer Sederian Copeland, Skyline (5A) 54-83-0-925, 12 TDs passing; 53-193, 3.65 yards/carry, 4TDs rushing: He is leading his team in rushing touchdowns this season. Additionally, Copeland’s arm helps add an extra dimension to Skyline’s attack and in his first season as starting quarterback, he has not disappointed, leading his team to a 3-1 record.

Ervin Hill made his name known after a break-out game against Fort Worth Paschal where he passed for 206 yards and rushed for another 257 while contributing to eight touchdowns.
David Minton - DRC Dagan Haehn, Lake Dallas (4A): 75-113-4-1,073, 17 TDs passing; 47-249, 3 TDs rushing: The dynamic sophomore is among top 4A passers, Haehn also ranks second on his team in carries and rushing yards. This season, Lake Dallas is averaging more than 43 points per game.
Stewart F. House - Special Contributor Kameron Kelly, Wylie (4A): 37-68-1-563, 4 TDs passing; 54-422, 7.81 yards/carry, 6 TDs rushing. While he has been splitting time with Carson Cook, Kameron has shown versatility while helping his team stay in the area rankings at No. 10.
Stewart F. House - Special Contributor Jett Duffey, Mansfield Lake Ridge (4A): 52-104-2-906, 11 TDs; 62-382, 6.16 yards/carry, 6 TDs. Mansfield Lake Ridge, while sitting with a 1-3 record has shown it can put up points on the board, with a 77-point showing during zero week and a pair of games with 42 or more. This is in large part to Duffey and his 17 total touchdowns (11 passing, six rushing) this season.
David Minton - DRC Jerrod Heard, Denton Guyer (4A): 46-71-4-738, 6 TDs; 68-468, 4.88 yards/carry, 4 TDs. Jerrod Heard has been at the center of Denton Guyer’s successes this season and the senior will again play a key role in Guyer’s push for another state title. Currently Guyer holds the No. 1 rank in the area Class 4A rankings.
