Euless Trinity football to play Jenks (Okla.) in season opener at Southlake, travel to Bentonville two weeks later
By next season, the Euless Trinity football team will likely have the most diverse schedule in the state. For the second straight year Trinity will play two out-of-state teams, starting off the season by playing Jenks (Okla.) in it’s first game of the season on Sept. 7 at Southlake Carroll’s Dragon Stadium, and traveling to Arkansas to play Bentonville two weeks later, on Sept. 20.
Jenks won the Oklahoma 6A state championship last year, while Bentonville lost in the Arkansas 7A state championship game.
Last year, Trinity traveled to Seattle to play Bellevue (Wash.) and then returned home to play Tulsa (Okla.) Union the next weekend.
Although Trinity and Jenks didn’t play each other, the schools should have some familiarity with each other stemming back to last year. They were both a part of a Texas vs. Oklahoma showdown last year at Pennington Field.
Jenks played DeSoto, losing 46-27 in the first game, while Trinity capped it off by beating Tulsa Union, Jenks’ rival, 21-18.
