Arlington Martin RB Kyle Hicks: Switching commitment from Texas to TCU 'the best decision I ever made'
Arlington Martin’s Kyle Hicks sported a grey suit, purple bowtie and white TCU hat at Arlington ISD’s Signing Day ceremony. The colors were a perfect fit for the Horned Frogs’ purple-based color scheme, and Hicks said TCU was a perfect fit for him despite first committing to Texas and then flipping to TCU in early December.
“It was a difficult process having to tell the Texas coach I wanted to go to TCU now, but when I did it I felt like it was the best decision I ever made,” Hicks said. “I’m closer to home so I can see my high school coaches more, I can see my family more and, plus, my mom can make a 15 minute drive to the games and not the three hours.”
Hicks said having his mom watch him play was a big factor.
He was also excited to get it over with. He woke up at 6:00 am in order to send his letter of intent by 7:15.
