Denton Guyer wide out Ellis Jefferson commits to Arizona State during visit
Denton Guyer wide receiver Ellis Jefferson took an unofficial visit to Arizona State on Friday and decided to commit right on the spot.
"My mom and I loved the school. She loved the education center and liked the way they played football,” Jefferson told Scout.com. “They pass the ball a lot. And they are putting in 308 million dollars for a new stadium, new weight room, new everything. I'm excited about it."
Jefferson was also considering Michigan State and Colorado, but the 6-foot-4, 200-pounder explained that the Pac-12 school was simply a good fit.
“The offense they run is similar to the offense I run in now high school,” Jefferson said. “I’m a physical receiver that is also fast. I will be able to make big plays downfield with this offense."
Jefferson caught 38 passes for 676 yards and five touchdowns last season. He was ranked as a three-star prospect and one of the top 100 wide receivers in the nation by Scout.com.
