Javelle Allen passes for two TDS and runs for four others

PROSPER — Javelle Allen accounted for six touchdowns as Prosper (2-2) handed Bridgeport its first loss of the season, 49-7.

Allen scored on runs of 18, 69, 12 and 7 yards and threw touchdown passes of 10 and 26 yards to Torii Hunter Jr. Allen carried the ball only 13 times but averaged 13.62 yards per carry to finish with 177 rushing yards.

Bridgeport (3-1) came into the game averaging over 500 total yards and 51 points per game but the Prosper defense held it to 104 total yards and only one score.

FRISCO — Jordan Barnes rushed for 249 yards and three touchdowns, leading Van Alstyne to a 37-14 victory over Frisco Lone Star at Pizza Hut Park in a game that was delayed an hour because of lightning in the area.

Van Alstyne (3-1) started quickly, taking the opening drive 77 yards in seven plays with Barnes scoring his first touchdown on a 2-yard run.

Van Alstyne quarterback Drew Dennis completed only one pass in the game, but he rushed for 97 yards as the team totaled 405 rushing yards.

A relentless pass rush by Van Alstyne helped limit Lone Star (1-3) to -44 yards rushing and 123 yards in total offense.

Life Red Oak

Life School Oak Cliff defeated Life School Red Oak 22-0, winning their I-35E rivalry for the second consecutive year.

Life School Oak Cliff (2-2) was led by Michael Williams, the area small school No. 5 rusher with 125 yards and two touchdowns.

Life School Red Oak (0-3) was held to three first downs and 65 yards of total offense.

The game was called early in the third quarter.

KAUFMAN — Trey Acy and Clay Price led a dominating Lindale attack in a 49-13 win over Kaufman in a non-district game.

Lindale (4-0), No. 9 in the Associated Press state Class 3A rankings, took a first-half lead of 35-0 behind two touchdowns apiece by Acy and Price, as well as a 5-yard scoring run by Alex Cardenas. Acy added a fourth-quarter touchdown, as well.

Kaufman (1-3) had zero net total yards in the first half.

CRANDALL — In a rain-soaked game, Van (4-0) scored 36 unanswered points and cruised to a 36-7 victory over Crandall (2-2).

Crandall scored its lone touchdown on a 49-yard run by Nate Banks with 7:13 left in the game.

Van was led by quarterback Garrett Smallwood with 200 yards passing. Smallwood had two touchdowns rushing and one touchdown passing.

QUINLAN — C.J. Bryant broke five tackles during a 60-yard touchdown run to cap 42 unanswered points for Princeton (3-1) as it rolled over Quinlan Ford (1-3), 50-15.

After trailing 15-7 at the half, Princeton’s defense shut out Quinlan Ford in the second half.

Marcus Allen led Princeton on the ground with 63 yards and three touchdown runs. Stacey Dillard threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

LORENA — Kennedale stopped Lorena on a crucial late drive to win 21-17 at Lorena.

Faced with first and goal from the 10, the Kennedale defense stiffened and forced three incompletions from Fisher Simpson to end the drive.

Fred Scott sealed the game when he intercepted Simpson’s last-gasp heave with seven seconds left. It rounded out a solid day for Scott as he also gained 126 yards on offense.

FARMERSVILLE — Andrew Simons rushed for three first-half touchdowns to lead Farmersville (1-3) past Emory Rains (1-3) in non-district play.

Byron Brooks returned an interception 88 yards for a touchdown to push Farmersville’s lead to 28-0 on the last play of the first half.

Emory Rains’ Max Taylor led all rushers with 130 yards on 13 carries.

The game was delayed for 30 minutes midway through the first quarter due to lightning.

VERNON — The visiting Sanger Indians piled up the points in their 57-14 win over the Vernon Lions.

Dane Evans started the scoring with a 4-yard run, and then struck gold again with a 29-yard pass to Dakota Cotton. Evans finished the night 18 of 31 for 208 yards and three scores.

Brock Squier added 171 yards on the ground and two touchdowns for the Indians.
