Leg injury sidelines Rockwall standout

Rockwall standout senior running back Josh Broach suffered a leg injury last week during the Yellowjackets' 41-29 victory against Royse City and probably will miss the rest of the season, Rockwall coach Scott Smith said Thursday.

Smith declined to identify the nature of the injury but said Broach hurt himself while making a cut on a long run. Broach had five carries for 60 yards, including a 48-yard touchdown run, against Royse City before being replaced by junior Darian Moseley, who finished with 17 carries for 85 yards.

Broach has 278 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 54 carries this season. Last year, Broach ranked seventh among Class 4A area running backs with 1,419 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns on 212 carries. Rockwall (1-2) has a bye this week before opening District 10-4A play next week at Highland Park.
