Flower Mound star running back Hunter Lee to walk on at La. Tech
Flower Mound running back Hunter Lee, who was lightly recruited despite being the MVP of powerhouse District 8-5A, said Saturday he will walk on at Louisiana Tech.
Lee, who rushed for more than 100 yards per game last season and also caught 104 passes and scored 38 touchdowns, made the decision after attending the Louisiana Tech spring game in Ruston, La. Lee (5-11, 190), who can bench press 280 pounds and squat 520, was leaning toward Louisiana Tech for weeks but also had an offer to walk on at West Virginia.
The Louisiana Tech opportunity was enticing because Lee’s versatility as a runner, receiver and blocker could earn him immediate playing time — and a scholarship. Coach Sonny Dykes runs a spread offense that is much like the offense at Flower Mound.
