Surprise, surprise: Euless Trinity rolls over another opponent

GRAPEVINE - Brandon Carter ran for two touchdowns and threw for another to lead No. 1 state-ranked Euless Trinity to a dominating 55-7 victory over Grapevine in a District 6-5A game Friday night at Mustang-Panther Stadium.

After Grapevine attempted and failed an onside kick to start the game, Trinity (9-0, 7-0) wasted little time in capitalizing with Terrence Tusan's 2-yard touchdown run. On the next drive, Carter threw a 54-yard touchdown to Daniel Dorsey on a reverse-halfback option. Trinity added a 4-yard touchdown run by Carter and a 57-yard interception return touchdown by Brian Nance to take a 27-0 lead late in the first quarter.

Grapevine (4-4, 3-3) got on the board in the second quarter on a 37-yard touchdown pass from Brett Harbin to Ted Hull-Ryde, but Trinity answered with a 25-yard broken-field run for a touchdown by Carter. Paul Tuipulotu scored on a 1-yard dive to run the Trinity lead to 41-7 at halftime.
