Allen works around Lakeview's 7-1 post to cruise into Region II semis
RICHARDSON – Allen punched its ticket to the Class 5A Region II tournament with authority Tuesday night, dominating Garland Lakeview throughout in a 58-35 victory at Richardson Berkner.

“Our guys were great on the defensive end, and we take a lot of pride in our defensive play,” Allen coach Jeff McCullough said. “Defense wins championships, and we knew we had a challenge in a team like Lakeview and we answered it.”
The main challenge Allen faced was defending Lakeview’s 7-1 post, Elbert Robinson. The LSU signee never got on track against Allen’s swarming defense and finished with just seven points and eight rebounds.

McNeace, who guarded Robinson most of the game, finished with 12 points and 15 rebounds.
Allen kept the pressure on in the final quarter, putting down a final Lakeview rally on defense while hitting eight of 10 shots from the foul line to close the game.
