McKinney North buried 13 3-point field goals on the way to a decisive District 13-4A victory against Lovejoy.

Julion Pearre scored 16 points and Collin Curran added 15 for McKinney North. All 15 of Curran’s points came from beyond the perimeter.

The win moves North (17-5, 8-0) two games ahead of Lovejoy (14-4, 6-2) in the district race with six games to go.

North, No. 22 in the state rankings, owned an 18-7 lead after the first quarter and only briefly saw its lead fall below 10 points the rest of the game.

The comeback window closed for Lovejoy late in the third quarter, when North went on an 18-4 run that included six 3-pointers.
