Ex-Kimball star Keith Frazier finishing classes to meet NCAA eligibility standards, expected to enroll at SMU by Friday

SMU basketball signee Keith Frazier isn't yet in school but is expected to enroll by the fall semester and possibly as early as the second summer term, a source familiar with the situation confirmed Wednesday.

Frazier was described as finishing classes to meet NCAA eligibility standards, which is not necessarily unusual. Top Kentucky recruits James Young and Aaron and Andrew Harrison have not enrolled in school either, the Louisville Courier-Journal reported this week.

Snoop Johnson, Frazier's high school coach at Dallas Kimball, said his understanding was that Frazier would be at SMU for the second summer session, which begins Friday.

The 6-5 Frazier, rated as the nation's fourth best shooting guard in the 2013 class by Rivals.com, is the cornerstone of a recruiting class ranked as high as 14th nationally. He averaged 23.2 points, 6.2 rebounds and 6.3 assists for Kimball this past season.
