Friday's basketball replay: Dramatic finishes for Plano girls, Grand Prairie boys

Grace Mitchell scored on a putback with two seconds left to give the Plano girls a 61-60 win over Flower Mound. Mitchell had 17 points, and Kylee Guthrie had 18 as Plano (13-5) rallied from a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit.

SMU signee Kiara Perry scored 18 points to lead the defending 5A state champion Duncanville girls to a 51-30 win over Cedar Hill in a battle for first in District 7-5A. Duncanville (20-0, 4-0) has won 48 straight games. … Twins Erick and Derrick Neal combined for 38 points to lead the Lincoln boys to a 57-48 overtime win over Hillcrest. Erick scored 22 for the state’s 23rd-ranked 4A team. … Keith Frazier, one of the nation’s top recruits, scored 27 for the Kimball boys in an 83-70 win over Molina.

BOYS

Chris "Yogi'' Cheatham, Grand Prairie, point guard: Scored the game-winning basket on a putback with 13 seconds left in a 48-47 win over Midlothian.

Keenan Evans, Richardson Berkner, guard: Scored 21 as the state's 10th-ranked 5A team beat 14th-ranked Jesuit, 64-56.

Rashard Higgins, Mesquite, wing/post: Higgins, an honorable mention all-state receiver in football, scored 34 points in an 80-63 win over Rockwall-Heath. He scored all of his points in the first three quarters.

Jalen Jones, Cedar Hill, guard/forward: Scored 17 points and made a game-winning layup with five seconds left to give Cedar Hill (13-5, 1-1 District 7-5A) a 46-44 win over Duncanville, the state's fifth-ranked 5A team.

Devante Kincade, Skyline, guard: The star quarterback, who has committed to Mississippi for football, scored 31 points in a 78-74 win vs. Lake Highlands.

Brandon Webb, North Crowley, forward: Scored 30 as the state's 15th-ranked 5A team beat Arlington Sam Houston, 94-50.

GIRLS

McKenzie Adams, Frisco Centennial, guard: The Arkansas signee scored 31 points in a 56-53 win over Frisco Wakeland. It was Centennial's first win vs. Wakeland since the 2008-09 season.

Kelsey Criner, Lincoln, guard: Had a triple-double with 15 points, 14 assists and 10 steals as the state's third-ranked 4A team beat Hillcrest, 101-32. Alisha Washington scored 33 for Lincoln.

Adrienne Drake, Kimball, post: Scored 30 in a 55-38 win vs. Molina.

Artavia Ford, Colleyville Heritage, post: Scored 30 as Heritage improved to 4-0 in District 6-5A with a 50-44 win over Grapevine. Heritage is tied for first with Irving MacArthur.

Alarie Mayze, Arlington Seguin, forward: Scored 20 as the state's 11th-ranked 4A team moved into a tie for first in District 15-4A by beating defending 4A state champion Mansfield Summit, 58-37.

Dai'Ja Thomas, Skyline, forward: Had 20 points and 13 rebounds in a 50-20 win vs. Lake Highlands.

BOYS

Jeffrey Carroll, Rowlett: The Oklahoma State signee scored 23 points as the state's third-ranked 5A team beat Sachse, 58-48. Rowlett led by just four at halftime before outscoring Sachse, 16-9, in the third quarter.

Lili Thompson, Mansfield Timberview: The Stanford signee scored 19 points to lead the state's fifth-ranked 5A team to a 61-32 win over Mansfield. Timberview (17-2, 3-1) is one game behind District 7-5A leader Duncanville.
