10-0 run late in third quarter carries South Oak Cliff boys over Lincoln, 71-66
South Oak Cliff 71, Lincoln 66: Bryan Umoru scored 12 of his team-high 17 points in the second half as South Oak Cliff outlasted Lincoln, 71-66, at Ellis Davis Fieldhouse on Tuesday night.
SOC went on a 10-0 run after trailing 45-43 in the final minute of the third quarter and never trailed again. SOC’s largest lead came at 70-62 in the final minute.
Bradley Umoru scored seven of his 13 points in the second half.
Shirmane Thomas scored 12 of his game-high 20 points in the second half to lead Lincoln. Brothers Erick and Derrick Neal added 18 and 17 points, respectively. Erick Neal scored 13 points in the second half.
Lincoln started fast and led, 14-7, in the first quarter. SOC closed on a 9-2 run and cut its deficit to 17-16 after one quarter. The teams were tied at 32 at halftime.
SOC will meet West Mesquite in the second Class 4A Region 2 semifinal Friday night in Garland.
