Baseball/softball replay (3/20): Coppell shuts out nationally ranked Marcus

GAME OF THE DAY

Oklahoma signee Jake Elliott pitched a three-hit shutout and struck out 11 to lead the Coppell baseball team to a 2-0 win over nationally ranked Flower Mound Marcus on Tuesday.

Coppell (12-3-2, 2-1 District 5-5A) got a two-out RBI single from Daniel Day in the fourth inning and a two-out RBI single by Trevor Inman in the sixth. That was enough for Elliott, who allowed only three singles against a Marcus team that is ranked third in the state in Class 5A and No. 24 in the MaxPreps.com national rankings.
