Boys basketball player of the week (3/4): Kimball's Keith Frazier
What he did: Frazier had 49 points in three playoff wins to lead Kimball back to the state tournament. None were more important than his final two. After taking an elbow to the face that knocked him out of the game for 11 minutes in the regional final against Arlington Seguin, Frazier returned in the final minutes. He produced a nifty assist to bring Kimball within one, then hit a circus layup with 30 seconds left to give Kimball the lead for good.
Who is he? A 6-5, 185-pound senior guard
The stats: Frazier is averaging 23.0 points, 8.4 assists and 6.8 rebounds per game.
Coach said it: “You don’t really find those kind of volume scorers that are so willing to pass the ball. I feel like he really can dominate a game offensively, but he loves to make the pass.” — Snoop Johnson
Did you know? Frazier was named a McDonalds All-American in
February. He has yet to make a college decision. … Kimball, the two-time
defending 4A state champion, plays Northside Brennan in the state semifinals at
8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
