Dallas-area baseball rankings (4/11): Upsets, big wins shake up Class 6A, Class 5A/others

Flower Mound and Grapevine occupy top spots, as other teams fall after dropping back-to-back games.

The last week of Texas high school baseball in the Dallas area saw inclement weather and big upsets.

Bishop Lynch shot up in the Class 5A/Others rankings after topping then-undefeated Prestonwood Christian 5-4 last Friday. Prestonwood Christian, nationally ranked, is one of the state’s top baseball teams.

While Prestonwood Christian sits atop TAPPS 2-I, the district race is still wide open. John Paul II and Bishop Lynch each have just one district loss.

Denton Guyer upset area-ranked Allen 1-0 on Wednesday night. Guyer pitcher Hawk Bowers gave up one hit and zero runs through four innings, striking out seven and walking four. A passed ball scored Guyer’s sole run in the first inning. Allen trails just Prosper in the District 5-6A race.
