Perhaps the least appreciated job in sports is that of the equipment manager. Everything they do, like collecting gear, washing jerseys and getting it all ready again for the next game, is all behind the scenes.
The only time anyone in the general public thinks about equipment managers is when they make mistakes. Like what happened before the Stars' game against the Buffalo Sabres.
Stars goal keeper Antti Niemi came out onto the ice to warm up before Dallas' road game and one eagle-eyed fan noticed something was amiss with Niemi's jersey.

The goalkeeper's name was misspelled on the sweater, the back reading "Nieme" instead of "Niemi."
The Stars explained that the jersey was new and shipped from the manufacturer with the misspelling. Fortunately, the jersey was just for warmups and when Niemi came back out for the actual game he was in a correctly-spelled one.
