Stars assign winger Curtis McKenzie to AHL

Curtis McKenzie was the last cut out of training camp and the first player called up when Patrick Eaves was injured in the third game of the season. McKenzie was hit from behind against Tampa Bay in his only NHL game this season and suffered severe trauma in his hip labrum. He has been rehabbing since and is now ready to return, but the Stars have a healthy roster, so McKenzie will go back to the AHL and become one of the many players battling to be ready in case there is an injury in the NHL.

Here is the press release:

FRISCO, Texas - Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the team has reassigned forwardCurtis McKenzie to the Texas Stars, Dallas' top development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
