Blues goalie takes slap shot from Jason Spezza directly to the face, stays in the game

There's just something about Jason Spezza's slap shots this postseason.

For the second straight series, the forward has hit an opposing goalie directly in the face.

Against the Minnesota Wild it was Devan Dubnyk. And now against the Blues goaltender Brian Elliott was the one who got rocked.

Elliott stayed in the game after taking the hit. Here's what he told reporters after the game:

"I didn't really see it coming through the pile. It just kind of caught me right in the eye. I think a little paint chip from my mask went in there. It was right on my cheek bone, but it was all good after that."

Here's what Dubnyk had to say about Spezza's shot after Game 1 of the Stars-Wild series.

"It stung me a little bit," he said. "It was hard and hit me square in the forehead, but I felt ok. I wanted to get up right away because they are touchy on things that happen with the head if you stay down at all, but I felt ok so I just popped back up."
