3. Brian Elliott, Blues - Forty saves, many spectacular, and kept his team in it.

Big play

With the game 0-0 in the first period, Stars winger Patrick Eaves had a great swipe at the puck that Blues goalie Brian Elliott stopped. Elliott was spun around, and Stars defenseman Jason Demers tried to chip in the rebound, but it was stopped by Elliott, who was facing the net.

Valeri Nichushkin was scratched for a second game in favor of Travis Moen, but Patrick Eaves left the game with an apparent foot injury in the third period. If Eaves can't play, do the Stars go to Nichushkin or call up a player from the AHL?

What does it mean?

The Stars needed to protect home ice in Game 1, but they also needed to show playoff mettle. They did both as they responded to the Blues tying the game in the third period and came back for the win.
