Justin Anderson and Salah Mejri impress in D-League debuts

For those of you who believe NBA players should be able to dominate whenever they step down to the Development League level, Justin Anderson and Salah Mejri passed the eye test.

In their game Saturday for the Texas Legends in Frisco, both of the Mavericks’ rookies started and had big statistical nights. Anderson, the first-round draft pick, had a team-best 27 points. Mejri, the 29-year-old 7-2 center from Tunisia, had 12 rebounds and six blocks.

“It’s a positive to be able to send guys there to get game action,” Carlisle said. “We’re going to do more of it. It’s a positive tool for our franchise and for those guys. It’s a win-win. In this instance they were able to play in the game last night and we got them here (Saturday night).”
