Mark Cuban shares an early glimpse of construction on Mavs' new practice facility

Mavericks owner Mark Cuban purchased a 13-acre plot of land in the Design District in early June with the intention of turning it into the Mavericks' new practice facility.

Cuban, who says he hopes that the facility is completed before the NBA's training camps this fall, shared a video of the on-going construction on his Twitter account on Friday.

Based off the current progress seen in the video, it seems Cuban's hopes of being done in time for training camp may be a bit of a fantasy. But the space is large, much larger than the Mavericks' current practice court in the bowels of the American Airlines Center.

Meanwhile, Cuban made a few fans on Twitter when he announced the steel at the new facility is made in America.

Cuban had some suburbs see if he was interested in building his practice facility outside of downtown Dallas, but the owner's loyalty to Dallas outweighed any potential benefits.

"In terms of my negotiation with the city and playing one municipality off another, it didn't happen," Cuban said in June when announced the facility. "I didn't ask for a penny. I didn't want a penny. I didn't hold anybody hostage and say, 'Listen, so and so has offered me land.' And I was offered land. This city or this municipality offered to do A, B or C. None of that whatsoever. There's a time for that type of thing. But in this particular case, I feel like I owe the city of Dallas more than they owe me. And they don't owe me anything."
