MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - The Cowboys have had a hard time producing takeaways. But they finally turned one into points Sunday at Miami.
Cowboys linebacker Rolando McClain intercepted a pass from Miami quarterback Ryan Tannehill on the first play of the second quarter Sunday and returned it 12 yards untouched for a touchdown to give Dallas a 7-0 lead.
McClain read Tannehill perfectly, stepping in front of Dolphins receiver Greg Jennings. Tannehill was trying to throw a quick slant pass over the middle to Jennings.
It was the Cowboys' league-low seventh takeaway of the season. It was the first time in McClain's NFL career that he's returned an interception for a touchdown.
