Why Cowboys fans would love what Randy Gregory wants for his upcoming birthday

Cowboys defensive lineman Randy Gregory joined Ben and Skin on KRLD-FM 105.3 on Wednesday. Here are some highlights.

What can you tell us about your high-ankle sprain?

Randy Gregory: It's gets better day by day. I think I'd be exaggerating a little bit if I said that it was 100 percent. But I've always said that I'm fighting that mental battle right now that everyone kind of goes through with an injury kind of like mine. One of the main things, I'm practicing real well. It's only a matter of time before I can put that back out on the field the way I was early in the year. I fully expect myself to. I just gotta get going.

Have you seen any change in the team's spirit?

Or with:

Randy Gregory: Not really, to be honest. I think we've had the same kind of mindset since Day 1. With the type of season we're having, it's real easy to put your head down. But I think, honestly, guys are really feeling optimistic about the year. Not just because we've got Tony back. But just because of how a lot of these games are finishing. We're not getting blown out. Coach Garrett always preaches about the little things, and the little things is what's killing us.

What kind of a scout quarterback is Romo?

Randy Gregory: Any chance you get to go up against a guy like that, and have him on your scout team, it's always a plus because he obviously has an upper hand knowing some of our defensive calls. Just gives it a different dynamic. He definitely gives us a test everyday when he's out there. We're real happy to have Tony back.

How into Star Wars are you?

Randy Gregory: I'm not as big into it as people may think. I will say I think I've seen every movie. I know most of the characters. When the games come out, I love the games.

What was your go-to movie growing up?

Randy Gregory: One movie I know I always used to watch, and I could probably watch it again, was Little Rascals, the remake, not the original one.

You've got a birthday coming up; what do you want for your birthday?

Randy Gregory: Oh man. You know what would be nice ... to end this (expletive) losing streak. Get a win on Sunday, have a birthday on Monday and then just glide into the rest of the week. Tony Romo, you better give me my birthday gift. I'm expecting it from you. No pressure.
