NFL analyst Eric Davis: Dez tirade 'not a big deal'

Former NFL players Eric Davis and Heath Evans debated whether Dez Bryant's locker room tirade on Thursday is a big deal on NFL.com

Eric Davis: It's not a big deal. I've yelled at reporters if they said something I didn't like, that I thought was out of bounds. If it was just about your football, if it was just about those issues, OK. You have a right to do that. You have a right to say that I made a bad play. You have a right to say I'm not playing well. Things like that. Once you go beyond that. Reading what I read about it, it seems as if Dez thought they were going beyond that. That's where I think, as a grown man, you have a right to tell another grown man that you don't like what he's doing. I don't think it affects the locker room. I don't think it affects the team and thinking that this guy's no longer going to do his job on the field. I don't think it's a big deal. I did it myself.

Heath Evans: I think the question is does it distract. This team is already distracted. They put six Ls in the wrong column. This is a team struggling to push through tough injuries. I think he's frustrated. This is a guy that I think has tried to turn the corner in a lot of ways with his own off-the-field issues. I think he's done that. On the field, he's trying to do the right things. When you start falling into that loss column, time and time and time again. You just can't seem to break free. Every little thing just irks you as a competitor. And I would say this. Sometimes, this can be the exact thing that flips the switch.
