Why does Cowboys owner Jerry Jones give so many second chances?

Jerry Jones has a reputation of giving more second chances than any other NFL owner.

This has again become a topic of discussion in Dallas with Rolando McClain remaining on the Cowboys roster despite receiving a 10-game suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.

So why does the Cowboys owner and general manager continue giving out additional opportunities to players most teams would not?

He would say, 'Oh Jerry, I want you to be what you can be and live. I just want you to be careful and not kill your friends or your other friends driving too fast, drinking and driving.'
