SMU remains unbeaten with two-point win over Yale; Markus Kennedy finishes with double-double

DALLAS -- Jordan Tolbert scored five of his 17 points in the final three minutes, Markus Kennedy had 12 points and 13 rebounds, and SMU held off Yale 71-69 on Sunday.

Tolbert's dunk with 1:08 left extended SMU's lead to 68-61, but Yale scored the next five for a one-possession game. SMU's Keith Frazier made two free throws with 9 seconds left, but Justin Sears answered with a 3-pointer to pull Yale to 70-69 with 2 seconds left. Tolbert made the first of two free throws and Yale didn't get off a final shot.

Frazier scored 12 points, and Nic Moore and Sterling Brown added 11 apiece for SMU (3-0). The Mustangs made 28 of 56 field goals.

Makai Mason led Yale (3-1) with 24 points and seven assists. Mason and Jack Montague made three 3-pointers apiece as the Bulldogs hit nine from distance. Sears finished with 15 points.
