Rockwall RB Chris Warren already racking up Big 12 offers for 2015
Rockwall running back Chris Warren may be one of the top prospects in the Class of 2015 but just like most players in the Dallas-area, he has one primary focus- spring ball.
"I'm excited about it, but I feel like I have to step up and be a leader so we can focus on winning," Warren said. "As of right now, we still have some kinks to work out, and we have to get used to the new coaches. I feel at the end of spring, we'll be ready to go."
But as more offers start to roll in, Warren knows he'll eventually have to turn his focus to
the recruiting process. The 6-foot-2, 215-pounder rushed for 1,059 yards and 13 touchdowns and was named 12-5A Offensive Newcomer of the Year so it comes as no surprise that Baylor, Mississippi State, Texas, Texas Tech and SMU have all extended offers.
Here are his thoughts on the three Big 12 programs:
"I went to Baylor's spring game and was really impressed with everything. The atmosphere was great, and I had a good time. I got to talk to Coach (Jeff) Lebby and he was really cool. (Jim) Gush recruits my area, but I haven't talked to him much, but he seems cool too. What I really like about Baylor is their offense. I think I could do great in it."
"Texas is really nice. I really liked the campus and the facilities. It's a balanced area, and I liked Austin. Coach (Mack) Brown is just an awesome coach. He is someone I would really love to play for. Coach (Larry) Porter is really cool too. Texas just has a good environment."
"With Texas Tech, I just really like their coaching staff. They are really energized about the program and love Texas Tech. They really tried to get to know me on a personal level. Even if I don't go their, I feel like I could still talk to them so that meant a lot to me. I visited this spring and overall, I really enjoyed it."
