Grobe said Linwood's attitude of late factored into the suspension. It was reported that he shoved an assistant coach during Saturday's blowout loss to TCU.

"He's just not been himself," Grobe said.

Linwood has seen his offensive production reduced this season as he's shared the backfield. He has 594 yards on 100 attempts with two touchdowns. But it's still been enough to break the school's career marks for rushing yards and rushing touchdowns.

The last thing Baylor needs is another distraction. Further details have come out in recent weeks about the university's sexual-assault scandal. The assistant coaches released a statement in support of former coach Art Briles without checking in with Grobe first. And Baylor fans have caught heat for selling shirts supporting Briles, hanging a pro-Briles banner from their luxury box and sending vile messages to a rape-survivor advocate who called for the team to end its season.
