Report: Baylor lands Arizona quarterback graduate transfer Anu Solomon

Arizona quarterback Anu Solomon will transfer to Baylor as a graduate transfer, according to a report from 247Sports.com. Solomon lost his starting job with the Wildcats after a season-opening loss to BYU and then suffering a knee injury in practice.

Solomon's addition to Baylor sets up position battle at quarterback. Previously, only rising-sophomore Zach Smith and 2017 commit Charlie Brewer were set to be on the depth chart at QB for the Bears. Smith and Solomon, who is eligible to play in 2017 as a graduate transfer, figure to compete for the starting job this offseason.

Solomon had a solid career at Arizona before 2016. In his last season as a starter, Solomon completed 62.1 percent of his passes for 2,667 yards, 20 touchdowns and five interception. This earned him a 147.0 passer rating in 2015. Solomon missed two games that season due to injuries.

Solomon, who went to Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, was lightly recruited by Oregon and new Baylor offensive coordinator Matt Lubick.
